Best nose trimmer for men in India: 4 models compared

By PickWise India EditorialLast reviewed November 20267 min read4 products compared

Short answer

Four battery nose trimmers from Panasonic, Havells and Wahl are compared on water wording, heads and batteries. Every Philips India nose trimmer page read carries a Discontinued label, so no Philips model is picked.

Picks at a glance
  1. Panasonic Cordless Nose, Ear and Facial Hair Trimmer (ER-GN30-H24B)A man who wants to rinse or use the trimmer in the bathroom and also trim fine facial hair.
  2. Panasonic Cordless Nose and Hair Trimmer (ER417K44B)A man who wants a light, plain battery nose trimmer and will clean only the blades.
  3. Havells NE6322 Nose and Ear TrimmerA man who wants an AA-powered nose and ear trimmer from a widely serviced Indian brand with a cleaning brush in the box.
  4. Wahl Ear, Nose and Brow Trimmer (05560-3824)A man who wants one tool for nose, ear and eyebrow hair and is happy to swap heads.

Four battery nose trimmers are compared here for a man who trims nose and ear hair about once a week at the bathroom basin, and sometimes on trips. The models come from Panasonic, Havells and Wahl, and every detail is taken from the brand pages.

Health and skin questions are outside the scope of this guide, and every safety or cleaning statement below is attributed to the brand that wrote it. Nothing here comes from using the trimmers.

Two points set the models apart. One is the exact wording each brand uses about water, and the other is whether the trimmer has a single rotary head or several heads in one box.

Why no Philips model is listed

Philips is the usual first name in this category, but the Philips India pages for four nose trimmers carry a Discontinued label. They are the NT3650/16, NT9110/30, NT1150/10 and NT1120/10.

The NT3650/16 page describes a Protective Guard System, a fully washable body, an AA battery, a pouch and two eyebrow combs of 3 mm and 5 mm, with a warranty of two years. Philips gives the NT1120/10 the same warranty period and says that it is easy to clean under the tap and can be used in the shower, which is a brand claim.

Named a waterproof nose trimmer, the NT9110/30 has a page that gives no water resistance specification. The NT1150/10 and NT1120/10 belong to the Series 1000 range, and the NT3650/16 and NT9110/30 belong to the Series 3000 range. All four pages being marked Discontinued, none is picked.

Reading the water claims

Of the four, the ER-GN30 carries the strongest wording. Its Panasonic page says 100%* waterproof and safe for wet and dry use, and the FAQ says the body is 100% waterproof and can be used while bathing. Nowhere on the page is the asterisk explained, so the exact limits of the claim are not known from the text.

Wahl is more careful in its wording. The page says the trimmer can be used wet or dry and that the blade detaches and can be rinsed under water, but it does not call the trimmer waterproof.

On the Panasonic ER417, the page says dry operation and washable blades, and it does not use the word waterproof. The Havells NE6322 page makes no water claim for this model.

IPX ratings are absent from all four listings, so none is stated in this guide. An IPX7 mention on the Havells page belongs to a different listed product, the GS8714, and does not apply to the NE6322.

Waterproof, washable and rinsable are three different words on the brand pages, and each brand has chosen its own. A body described as waterproof, a pair of washable blades and a detachable blade that rinses under water each cover a different part of the cleaning routine.

One head or several

Wahl ships two interchangeable heads, a detail trimmer and a rotary head, plus an eyebrow guide. That arrangement suits a man who wants one tool for nose, ear and brow hair.

The Havells NE6322 and both Panasonic models are nose and ear trimmers with a rotary system and a protective cap. The ER-GN30 page also mentions trimming fine facial hair, and the cap on both Panasonic models is described as a mirror cap.

A single rotary head keeps the box simple, while two heads bring a second part into the set.

Batteries

All four are battery operated. Havells states AA alkaline batteries at 1.5 V DC and 1.2 W, and Wahl states one AA battery.

Panasonic gives 1.5 V for the ER-GN30 and does not name the battery type on either of its pages. No page gives a battery life figure or a charging time, since none of the four is a rechargeable model.

Among the discontinued Philips models, the NT3650/16 is listed with an AA battery, which matches the cells named by Havells and Wahl.

A global model left out

Xiaomi publishes a nose hair trimmer on its global site with an IPX5 rating from a lab test, which the page describes as splash proof and not submersible. It charges over a Type C port, runs continuously for 90 minutes and has a detachable head that can be rinsed under a tap.

That page makes no statement about availability in India, so the model is left out of the comparison.

Waterproof claim on the ER-GN30

Panasonic sells the ER-GN30-H24B as a cordless nose, ear and facial hair trimmer with a dual edge rotary stainless steel blade. Its features include a Vortex Cleaning System, an ergonomic design and a protective mirror cap.

A warranty of two years from the date of purchase is stated. The model suits a man who wants to rinse the trimmer or use it in the bathroom and also trim fine facial hair.

Its limit is the waterproof claim itself, since the asterisk is unexplained and no IPX rating is given.

ER417K44B as a plain battery model

A rotary cutting system with serrated stainless steel blades is the core of the ER417K44B. It is battery operated, weighs 80 g, and comes with a protective mirror cap.

Panasonic describes dry operation and washable blades, with a two year warranty in the FAQ. The model suits a man who wants a light, plain battery trimmer and will clean only the blades.

Its page makes no waterproof claim and names no battery type. It also lists a power figure of 240 to 250 W, which conflicts with a battery tool.

NE6322 from Havells

Havells describes the NE6322 as a rotary system for hair removal. The box holds the trimmer, a protective cap, a cleaning brush and a manual, and the warranty is two years.

It suits a man who wants an AA powered nose and ear trimmer with a cleaning brush in the box. The page makes no waterproof or washable claim for the model.

Ear, nose and brow set from Wahl

Wahl lists this model under the product code 05560-3824. It uses one AA battery and offers two heads, a detail trimmer and a rotary head, together with an eyebrow guide, and Wahl gives a warranty of two years.

It suits a man who wants one tool for nose, ear and eyebrow hair and is happy to swap heads. The page says wet or dry use but does not call it waterproof and lists no IPX rating.

Comparing the two Panasonic models

Both Panasonic pages describe a rotary cutting action and a protective mirror cap, and both state a two year warranty, which puts the two models on the same support terms. The ER-GN30 adds a dual edge blade, a Vortex Cleaning System and the waterproof claim, while the ER417K44B adds a stated weight and serrated blades.

Neither page names the battery type. The ER-GN30 page gives a voltage, and the ER417K44B page gives no battery detail beyond saying it is battery operated.

Havells against Wahl

Both the Havells NE6322 and the Wahl set run on AA cells, and both carry a warranty of two years. Havells puts a cleaning brush in the box, while Wahl lets the blade detach for rinsing.

Heads are where they differ, and the choice depends on whether eyebrows are part of the routine. Havells supplies one rotary system with a cap, and Wahl supplies a detail head and a rotary head with an eyebrow guide.

Matching a trimmer to a routine

A weekly basin routine suits any of the four. Rinsing is the point where they differ, since only Wahl and Panasonic say anything about wet use or washing.

Trips bring weight and parts into the decision. Only the ER417K44B states a weight, and the Havells and Panasonic models come with a protective cap, while the Wahl set has extra heads to carry.

Eyebrow work is covered by the Wahl eyebrow guide, which is the only brow accessory among the four. The Philips NT3650/16 listed eyebrow combs, but it is marked Discontinued.

A man who wants fewer questions about the battery will find that the Havells and Wahl pages name AA cells. Panasonic leaves the battery type unnamed on both of its pages.

What each page leaves unstated

  • ER-GN30: the meaning of the asterisk on the waterproof claim, the battery type and any IPX rating.
  • ER417K44B: a waterproof claim, the battery type, and a power figure that fits a battery tool.
  • NE6322: any water or washing claim, and a battery life figure.
  • Wahl 05560-3824: a waterproof claim and an IPX rating, though it states wet or dry use.

Availability and scope

Pages from Panasonic, Havells and Wahl carried no Discontinued label when read, and the four models gave no clear sign of being orderable in November 2026. The comparison carries no commercial figures.

Only four models are covered, which are the two Panasonic trimmers, the Havells NE6322 and the Wahl set. Each is described from its own brand page, and the Philips models that would normally lead the category are absent because of their Discontinued labels.

Frequently asked questions

Is a nose trimmer safe to use in the shower?

Only the brand wording can be repeated here. Wahl describes its trimmer as for wet or dry use, while Havells and the Panasonic ER417 make no claim about use under a shower.

Do nose trimmers use batteries or charging?

The four models compared run on batteries, with AA cells named by Havells and Wahl. A Xiaomi global model charges over Type C, but its page makes no statement about availability in India.

How do you clean a nose trimmer?

Wahl says its blade detaches and can be rinsed under water. A small cleaning brush is supplied in the Havells box.

Does a nose trimmer come with a warranty?

Panasonic, Havells and Wahl pages each state a period of two years for the models compared. The Philips pages that also state one are marked Discontinued.

Is the Philips nose trimmer still sold?

Each of the four Philips India nose trimmer pages read carries a Discontinued label, so Philips is not covered here.
